Reservoir Eng 5: Fluid Flow in Porous Media

Reference
WCWO-E

Objectives

The main objective of this course is to present the mathematical and physical relationships that are designed to describe the flow behavior in a porous media (petroleum reservoir). The mathematical forms of these relationships (solution equations) will vary depending upon the characteristics of the reservoir and also the boundary conditions, which will be presented in detail.

After completing this course, the participants will be able to:

* Understand the mathematics behind fluid flow in a porous media

* Identify rock and petrophysical properties of a reservoir (porous media)

* Understand Flow characteristics in a porous media

* Identify Flow Regimes in a porous media

* Develop knowledge on fundamental solutions equations used in petroleum and reservoir engineering analysis.
